Dispatcher of the Year

Kim Soares Recieving the Award

 Kim Soares

We are pleased to recognize Kim Soares as Yolo Emergency Communications Agency’s “Dispatcher of the Year.” Kim has worked for YECA for a total of 16 years.  She began her dispatch career in 1984, leaving us in 1990 and returning home in 1999.  Kim is experienced in Public Safety, previously working as a Reserve Firefighter with the Woodland Fire Department.  Kim was selected for this honor because of her exceptional skills in dispatching, customer service and team building.

YECA is a consolidated police and fire dispatch center and Kim is extremely knowledgeable in both disciplines. Kim is well liked by her co-workers and field personnel and is considered an integral team player.  She also provides a valuable service by acting as a Communications Training Officer, sharing her expertise with new trainees.

Kim is an excellent example of the consummate professional; she is a consistent employee whose distinctive voice is always confident and composed whether she is dispatching a theft report or a high risk event.  Kim’s clever and contagious sense of humor helps to make a 12 hour shift fly by.  She takes pride in her work and is conscientious of her co-workers and field personnel.

These qualities and more are what make Kim YECA’s 2008 Dispatcher of the Year.  We are very proud to say that she is an employee of our agency and a leader within our organization.
