Yolo Emergency Communications Agency is proud to present Dave Hetland as the 2010 Dispatcher of the Year
Dave joined Yolo Emergency Communications Agency on June 16, 1994 and over the past 17 years he has made numerous contributions to the agency from developing training materials to participating in Agency committees and user groups. Because of his vast CLETS knowledge and strange enthusiasm he acts as the CLETS Agency Terminal Coordinator and ensures staff is made aware of any changes. Dave has successfully trained many of the agency’s best dispatchers and call takers and is always willing to help by anticipating other dispatcher’s needs. As a Dispatcher III, Dave consistently provides praise and positive feedback. He is a member of the YECA CAD Selection Committee and is participating on the Agency Dispatcher Week activity committee and regularly volunteers for special assignments.

Dispatch Assistant of the Year
Kim Faulk
Yolo Emergency Communications Agency
Yolo Emergency Communications Agency is proud to present Kim Faulk as the 2010 Dispatch Assistant of the Year.
Although Kim has only been with the agency for a little over two years, she has left her footprint on our communications center and staff. As the Dispatch Assistant, Kim is first up on phones and seems to really get the “good ones”. Handling difficult child callers and delivering babies has become second nature to Kim. Late one evening in January, Kim was receiving several abandoned 911 calls from a cell phone. Simultaneously the West Sacramento Police Department was in foot pursuit of two robbery suspects. Because of Kim’s experience she was able to connect these two seemingly random events which ultimately lead to the arrest of the two suspects. With a little help from technology and her quick thinking, Kim determined one of the suspects were “butt dialing” 911 from the robbery victim’s cell phone as they fled from police on foot.
Kim’s co-workers appreciate her sense of humor, ability to remain calm, good common sense, and quick wit BUT above all her LOVE OF COOKING (which she regularly shares with her shift).
